James Durrant is Professor of Photochemistry in the Department of Chemistry, Imperial College London, and Sêr Cymru Research Chair in Solar Energy Research, Swansea University. His research employs photochemical studies to elucidate design principles which enable the development of solar conversion technologies. His research addresses the development and functional characterisation of organic and perovskite solar cells and photoelectrodes for solar fuel generation.
James has published over 280 research papers and in 2012 was awarded the Tilden Prize by the Royal Society of Chemistry for his work elucidating material design principles for solar energy conversion.
