LCRI Conference - Low Carbon Policy to Practice

Keynote speaker for the LCRI conference, SPECIFIC CEO Kevin Bygate

SPECIFIC attended the recent LCRI conference in Cardiff. The conference explored how the government’s low carbon and energy policy could be implemented in practice through the use of technology developments. The two day event at SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff involved talks from keynote speakers including SPECIFIC CEO, Kevin Bygate. Dr Matt Carnie also represented SPECIFIC with a talk on low cost, high efficiency scalable Perovskite PV. LCRI projects and partners exhibited at the event and it was an opportunity to find out more about the research undertaken and the progress made.

Kevin commented, “SPECIFIC’s concept of low carbon ‘Buildings as Power Stations’ has become a reality: our demonstrators prove that it is both technically possible and economically feasible for a building to generate, store and release its own heat and electricity using solar energy. Our next challenge is to do it at scale, but with 200 million commercial buildings in Europe it’s clear that we’re sitting on a real opportunity here.”
