Materials Research Impact Competition

SPECIFIC recently hosted a materials research impact competition open to all those working on the COATED, STRIP, MATTER and SPECIFIC projects at Swansea University. The competition showcased the excellent research carried out and demonstrated how one person's research could have far reaching impact over a number of areas. Entries were required to show impact in terms of financial gain, partnership opportunities or influencing policy. Three finalists were selected to give presentations on their work; Harrison Lee on indoor PV and it's applications, Joanna Morgan on the pod - the first Building as a Power Station and Rhys Charles on recovering critical materials from electronic waste.

Although all entrants gave interesting and informative presentations on their work, Rhys Charles was selected as the winner for outstanding impact achieved from his EngD project. Find out how one person's research can make a difference...
